The composition draws on the long lineage of Mount Fuji in Japanese woodblock printing, from Hokusai's Thirty-Six Views to the contemporary illustrators working out of Kyoto and Tokyo, but the palette is shifted toward warmer sunset tones rather than the classic indigo-and-white of the original Edo prints.
The crown is deep black cotton, low-profile, six-panel construction. The cotton has been pre-washed before stitching, so the mens bucket hat softens immediately and never sits stiff.
